Anyplace Sync Browser (a-sync-browser for short) is a browser for Syncthing shares, that allows you to access a folder shared by Syncthing in the same way you would access a cloud service.
A-sync-browser can connect to a Syncthing device (or network of devices) and allows the user to - synchronize and browse the index; - download (and open) a file from the network; - upload a file to the network;
a-sync-browser works by connecting to syncthing-compatible devices and browsing the index ONLINE; this has a couple of important consequences: - this app DOES NOT synchronize (ie download) all of your files and folder on you mobile device!
You can browse a many-gigs folder index with your mobile device with reasonable performance a minimum storage/network usage; - your files are hosted only on your devices (pc, laptop, etc) so this app DOES require one of your devices to be online and connected to synchronize its index and download files;If you need to access your files while your device is offline, look for the 'Syncthing' app on play store.
Syncthing replaces proprietary sync and cloud services with something open, trustworthy and decentralized.
Your data is your data alone and you deserve to choose where it is stored, if it is shared with some third party and how it's transmitted over the Internet.
This app includes an independent implementation of the BEP and discovery protocols spoken by Syncthing.
This app is not part of nor includes parts of Syncthing, it just spokes the same language (protocol) due to the open source nature of Syncthing code and specifications.
